West of 60 at EWMC

On Friday 17 February about 40 people, mostly members at West End, visited the Edmonton Waste Management Centre, at Aurum Road just of the northeast leg of the Anthony Henday. The Centre occupies 200 hectares of land and employs about 500 people. It handles all waste from the people of Edmonton, about 4500 truckloads per week. The Centre takes pride in being mostly self-sustainable, and changes whatever it can into useful and saleable products.
