Music
Music is an important part of worship, and West End is blessed with many musically talented members. Also, the church’s sanctuary was designed to provide excellent acoustics. The organ in the church is a pipe organ built by Orgues Letourneau in Quebec. The piano is a Steinway concert grand. A choir and other vocal groups, as well as soloists and instrumentalists, contribute to the worship services on a regular basis.
SERVICE CHOIR
The Service Choir consists of members of the congregation who love to praise the Lord with song. The choir participates in services approximately once a month, especially at Christmas and Easter. Practices are held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, from September to May.
WITNESS
The music team Witness was formed in 1995 when contemporary music began to be part of worship services. Its mandate is to enhance worship for the congregation of West End through the leading of congregational singing of contemporary Christian songs as a part of regular worship services. The name of the group reflects what its members believe they are called to do—witness to the love of Jesus Christ with fellow believers in worship of our God and Saviour.
SHILO
The music team Shiloh was formed in 2002, and is made up of six members who play guitar, piano, bass, and sing. Shiloh means ‘place of peace’ in Hebrew (cf. Isaiah 52:7).
The church facilities are available for concerts and other performances.
